Spread Thin: Unleashing Fury with 'World of Snakes

Wisconsin hardcore quartet Spread Thin dropped their debut full-length album, World of Snakes, this past July, and now they’re back with a high-energy new music video for the intense track “Gaslit.” The song captures the frustration of watching someone you love struggle and the inevitable blowback when you try to help, no matter how hard you try.

World of Snakes marks Spread Thin’s entrance into the scene, offering a no-frills, in-your-face hardcore experience that blends power-violence and grind influences. Clocking in at just 18 minutes, the album showcases raw, honest lyrics delivered with ferocious intensity. Vocalist Ben Deml rips through the vocals while guitarist Alex Dewall unleashes a storm of gritty, abrasive guitar work. The rhythm section drives the chaos with drummer Tristan Wells’ precise, chaotic percussion and bassist Bryan W. Fleming’s bold, energetic basslines.

The album artwork for World of Snakes was created by Alyssa Servizzi, who, according to the band, perfectly captured the album’s mood and imagery. It’s a visual representation of the album’s unapologetic, impassioned tone. Spread Thin’s raw energy and unfiltered emotion shine through both in their songwriting and their live performances. Fans of bands like Rotting Out, Magrudergrind, and Weekend Nachos will definitely want to check them out.
