2023 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR KICKS OFF MARCH 1ST

King Tuff releases his anticipated freewheeling sixth studio album, Smalltown Stardust, today via Sub Pop. The album, which the AV Club says "finds Thomas moving beyond the melodic garage-rock he’s known for to incorporate more tender moments and orchestral flourishes," and was named one of the most anticipated albums of the year by Stereogum, was co-written and co-produced by SASAMI.

Smalltown Stardust is “an album about love and nature and youth,” Thomas explains. It’s a spiritual, tender and ultimately joyous record that might come as a shock to those with only a passing knowledge of the artist’s back catalog, as evidenced by the album’s singles “Smalltown Stardust,” “Portrait of God,” and “Tell Me.” On Smalltown Stardust, Thomas takes us on his journey to a place where past and present collide, where he can be a dreamer in love with all that he sees. Images of his youth abound.

Additionally, to mark the occasion, King Tuff shares a lyric video for “How I Love,” an album stand-out that Thomas calls one of his favorite songs on the album. “Sasami wrote this song for me way back in 2018, but it didn’t really come together until we started demoing in 2020. This is the type of song I’ve wanted to do for years, but maybe never had the confidence to achieve. I’ve always hid behind loud guitars, but here I’m exposed, and I love how open and empty it is, yet so comfortable too. I wanted to show another side of myself through this record, and I think this song is the perfect example of that.”

King Tuff’s 2023 North American tour kicks off March 1st in San Diego, CA and wraps April 7th at Joshua Tree, CA with a show at Pappy and Harriets. All dates below.
