Blu DeTiger Takes Over Royale
The “Bass Queen” of New York, Blu DeTiger, took to the Royale stage this Thursday to kick off her first headline tour. Her tour, cleverly named “Blu DeTour”, was packed full of energy, musicality, and of course, Blu’s insane bass skills. Following a bubbly and wonderfully bratty set by Tiffany Day, fans stood in anticipation waiting for Blu to take the stage. She opened with “Crash Course”, instantly capturing the crowd’s attention. Continuing on with the set, she performed two more hits: “Hot Crush Lover” and “Toast With the Butter”. At this point, the energy in the room was electric. Music students and cult followers alike were dancing their hearts out to an unexpected and genre-bending cover mashup of “Glamorous” and “Electric Feel”.
Following this mashup, Blu stopped to express to the audience how grateful she was to be able to go on a headline tour with the people she loves. It was a heartwarming moment, but that did not stop her from going right into “Enough 4 You”, a funky and electric recent release. At this point in the night, it was apparent that the audience had connected through Blu DeTiger’s bass anthems. She finished out the set with “Vintage”, keeping up the same energy she had earlier in the night. Blu DeTiger has certainly established that her shows are not ones to miss.
