Emails I Can’t Send Tour

Former ANTM contestant Lauren Luiz, known as girlhouse, stepped up to the stage to greet the full house at Big Night Live on October 3rd. Immediately recognized as a warm and welcoming performer, the crowd quickly became fans of the artist. The crowd favorite song was “concussion”, with a loud cheer coming from a group located in the middle of the floor as it was announced as the next song. Luiz’s simple yet elegant take on performing her songs grabbed the attention of the crowd with ease, as they all prepared for the night ahead.

From the stage to the sound, it was electric. As soon as the lights dimmed, screams of excitement erupted as Sabrina Carpenter took center stage behind the keyboard, playing the intro title track to her newest album, emails i can’t send. It was a warmup to what was about to be the best night in a long night for many at BNL. Every song was someone’s favorite song, with screams beginning even before the song started, as Carpenter alluded to the upcoming lyrics. She talked to Boston between numbers, greeting a dad in the audience and consoling someone going through a recent breakup. All of us felt the pain of getting broken up with over a FaceTime call as we sang our hearts out to “Vicious”. Songs from the new album, as well as classic hit singles like “Sue Me” carried the sold out crowd through the night. Before we all realized, it was towards the end of the night, though it was clear an encore was in store - chants for Sabrina to return easily carried to the back of the stage. Carpenter quickly returned to the light-up heart steps, and thus began the beginning of the end of the night. Though only 2 songs, she easily made it seem like an entire concert in and of itself. On the final number, because i liked a boy, heart-shaped balloons fell onto the floor, visually capturing the feeling of never wanting a night to end. If you ever have the chance to see Sabrina Carpenter perform, do yourself a favor and buy the ticket.
