Killswitch Engage Lights Up New England Metal & Hardcore Fest For their 25th Anniversary

Massachusetts’ own and legendary Killswitch Engage took the stage at the first day of New England Metal and Hardcoree at the Worcester Palladium. Thousands of fans surround the Nuclear Blast Records stage anxiously waiting for Killswitch Engage to take the stage. They opened the set with their song “Soilborn” and pyro lit up the whole festival. The energy Killswitch brings is unmatched, you could feel the crowd singing along the entire set. You could feel the energy bouncing off the band members to the audience.

Frontman Jesse Leach jumped down into the barricade to sing with the fans. He moved to different parts of the barricade and passed the mic to fans to sing along with him. During their song “Take This Oath” Jesse invites Howard Jones, ex-vocalist of Killswitch Engage and the audience roars with excitement. Leach and Jones were a dynamic duo and dominated the song together. They had also brought Howard Jones back on stage to perform their song “The Signal Fire” and “Rose of Sharyn.” Killswitch played some classics such as “My Curse” and some newer songs such as “Unleashed.” At the end of Killswitch Engage’s set they ended it with their notorious cover of “Holy Diver” by Dio. The crowd sang just as loud as the band did. It was a long rainy and cold day, but Killswitch Engage brought the energy that everyone needed towards the end of the day.
