The New Stage Tour
Last Monday, early 2000s pop star Jesse McCartney came to Boston with Jamie Miller on The New Stage Tour. This tour was originally set to hit the road in the fall of 2021 but had to reschedule for May to June of 2022. The New Stage is McCartney’s first studio album in 7 years and this tour is the celebration!
Kicking off the party, Wales born singer/songwriter Jamie Miller took the stage alongside keyboardist Heather Rivas. This electric pair gave us quite the performance with songs off of the 2022 album Broken Memories, which included tracks such as Last Call, It Is What It Is, and I Lost Myself In Loving You. Rivas’s performance was nothing short of incredible. They went from eloquently playing the keys to shredding the guitar! Individually, Miller and Rivas, are insanely talented but together they make an unstoppable team. You can tell how much fun they have together up there doing what they love.
The stage lights went out and the music over the house speakers cut out. To the left, guitarist Keven Eknes. To the right, drummer David Haddon. Stepping into the dual spotlights at the center of a tall staircase on stage, 2000s teen pop sensation Jesse McCartney graced us with his presence. I think at that point, everyone and their inner child were screaming. It was honestly almost a surreal moment seeing him appear in those lights. His voice is still as smooth as ever and so are his dance moves. Between that, the outfit changes, the smiles and winks, he had all the women swooning. His performance mesmerizing from start to finish. He played us a nineteen song set including songs off of albums New Stage, Departure, Beautiful Soul, Right Where You Want Me, and Have It All. He also played covers of Seal’s Kiss From A Rose and a piano version of Leona Lewis’s hit song Bleeding Love, which was actually written by McCartney. This performance was an absolute party and probably the most fun you’ll have at a show this year!
