Lacuna Coil kicked off this euphoric night with Blood, Tears, Dust off of their 2016 album Delirium. Singers Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, captivated the audience with their melodic voices and screams. While drummer, Richard Meiz, bassist Marco Coti Zelati and guitarist Diego “Didi” Cavalotti rocked their respective station. This performance focused heavily on their most recent album Black Anima (2019) with songs off of other albums Broken Crown Halo (2014), Comalies (2002), Dark Adrenaline (2012), and Delirium (2016). This gothic inspired band puts on an extraordinary performance! It is easy to see that they love what they do and their fans. The chemistry flowing between Cristina and Andrea upfront is unmatched. They balance each other with their contrasting vocals and it makes for a phenomenal site. Members Meiz, Zelati, and Cavalotti stand tall and brooding, fitting their gothic image, while absolutely killin’ the instrumentals!
Setlist: Blood Tears Dust, Trip The Darkness, Reckless, Apocalypse, Layers of Time, Heaven’s a Lie, Save Me, Veneficium, Die & Rise, and Nothing Stands In Our Way.
The lights dimmed and the symphonic metal icons took their places on stage. Apocalyptica is a truly remarkable band consisting of Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Mikko Sirén. Although focused on the Cell-0 album, they also visited previous works with tracks off of albums Worlds Collide (2007), 7th Symphony (2010), Apocalyptica (2005), Cult (2000), Shadowmaker (2015), as well as a few covers. We were also gifted performances by special guests Franky Perez for Not Strong Enough and Cristina Scabbia for S.O.S. (Anything But Love). Their sound absolutely oozes passion and crazy energy! This is a genuinely unforgettable performance, I mean, how often do you get to rock out to a cello? This was an absolutely brilliant performance to close the US tour.
