THE WRECKS & ARLIE @ FETE MUSIC HALL

The 4-piece pop rock band The Wrecks hit Fete Music Hall in Providence on their Back and Better Than Ever Tour this past weekend. With Arlie as their opening act, the concert was definitely filled with an unbelievable energy from start to finish.

Arlie

Arlie opened their set with “blackboard.edu,” a single from 2018. Throughout their performance, the 5-piece band warmed up the crowd by having everyone jump and dance around, even those who hadn’t heard their music before. From jumping off the drum platform multiple times, to running side to side repeatedly, to even bringing out a saxophone, Arlie’s set was one to remember. The band performed their popular songs like “Big Fat Mouth,” “Barcelona Boots,” and “Too Long,” before ending the set with their TikTok hit “Did Ya Think.”

The Wrecks

Once it was time for The Wrecks, the house lights dimmed, a snippet of a-ha’s “Take On Me” briefly played in between warped static sounds, and the band made their way out one by one. The energy for the show started on a high as they performed “Out of Style” from their 2020 album Infinitely Ordinary. After playing a few classics like “Figure This Out” and “James Dean,” lead singer Nick Anderson gave a brief story about his experience filming the music video for “Things You Make Me Do,” a single release featured on their Sonder (Deluxe) album that recently came out. Even though the crowd’s excitement never lowered, Anderson strongly encouraged the crowd to let loose and move around during “This Life I Have,” causing a shift in position for everyone in the pit. As the band reached the end of their set, Anderson took the time to thank multiple people on their team, from their touring manager Jason to their merch seller Pam. To finish the night, The Wrecks performed “Favorite Liar,” their first and most popular song. As tradition, Anderson “split the room” during the bridge, stepped down into the pit, and sang, jumped, and danced around with fans to end the concert. The Wrecks is definitely a band that will always bring their 110% to every show, so be sure to check them out the next time they’re around!
