The XOXO Tour
On Wednesday, March 30th, The Maine brought The XOXO Tour to House of Blues in Boston with special guests The Happy Fits and Charlotte Sands. They had the venue absolutely packed, from front to back and the crowd that they draw is full of good times and good vibes. So it's safe to say that it was a rad night of singing and dancing as well as flashing, sequined cowboy hats.

Charlotte Sands is a 20-something pop singer born and raised in the United States. She made her way into the spotlight after the release of her song I Don’t Care back in July of 2020 and has had a handful of great opportunities since! Including touring with Yungblud earlier this year and playing Sad Summer Fest in 2021.
Now she’s touring with The Maine and she is truly an awesome addition to this lineup! Tonight drummer, Danen Reed Rector, opened up the show with a drum solo which led into the pop artists unreleased song Tantrum. The crowd l o v e d every second of her performance. It was full of electric energy and tons of epic hair flips!
Setlist: Tantrum. Bad Day. Special. Every Guy Ever. Keep Me Up All Night. Lost. Dress.
Second up, The Happy Fits. This three piece indie rock band from Pittstown, New Jersey came out really blew the audience away. I mean, they’ve got a singing drummer, Luke Davis. A lead vocalist playing the cello, Calvin Langman. It’s rad as hell! We can’t forget Ross Monteith on guitar and vocals, he crushed it! They gave us a ten song set to get warmed up for the main act — heheh, get it?
“Make some noise if this is your first time rocking out to a cello!” Calvin shouted to the eager crowd. These guys did not slow down once. Their infectious energy spread to the audience and they had the whole place bouncing and singing along! Even those up in the balcony joined in. It’s easy to tell that whether or not they’re playing to twenty people or two thousand people, they’re pouring their heart and soul into every single song.
Setlist: Go Dumb. No Instructions. So Alright, Cool Whatever. Changes. Mary.
Heart of a Dancer. She Wants Me (To Be Loved). Moving. Hold Me Down. Too Late.
Now for the eagerly anticipated, self proclaimed “Arizona Emo” rock band — The Maine! This tour is in support of the bands 2021 release of XOXO: From Love and Anxiety In Real Time. The band consists of lead vocalist John O’Callaghan, lead guitarist Jared Monaco, bassist Garrett Nickelsen, drummer Pat Kirch, and rhythm guitarist Kennedy Brock. These guys have been taking over stages since 2007.
Now as you would expect, the crowd. went. insane. Opening with their song Sticky, everyone from new fans to veteran fans were swaying, singing, and rockin’ out! Every time I see these guys, I swear they keep getting better and better. The liveliness and passion of the band is so strong it radiates onto their fans making for one incredible show.
Setlist: Sticky. Like We Did (Windows Down). Numb Without You. Am I Pretty?
Love In Real Time. Slip The Noose. High Forever. Dirty, Pretty, Beautiful. Taxi.
