Gwingle Gwongle Tour

Remi Wolf brought her Gwingle Gwongle tour to the Roadrunner in Boston this past Sunday, and the sold-out show was definitely a night to remember. With her incredible opener Jordana and her lively stage presence, Remi Wolf’s show is for sure one you’re going to want to catch before the tour is over.

Jordana:

To open up the show, Remi Wolf brought Jordana on for the last few dates of her tour. The 22-year-old bedroom pop musician began her set with “Pressure Point,” the first song off of her newest album Face The Wall. After noticing someone from the pit needed to be taken out, she quickly stopped her set and waited until security was able to get them out. She then stressed the importance of staying hydrated and made security pass out water bottles to the pit. Throughout the set, Jordana kept making “hydration checks” to ensure everyone was doing good; she definitely made the concert feel like a safe space.

After signing the title track of her album Summer’s Over, Jordana introduced the members of her band, which included her bassist, guitarist, and drummer. Before her final song “Why,” she left the audience with “and now for the grand finale, I’ll see you later.”

Remi Wolf:

Remi Wolf’s energy was present throughout the venue even before she came on stage with her fun pre-show playlist that had everyone singing along and dancing around. The lights dimmed as the members of her band came on stage and the audience screamed with excitement. Her guitarist and bassist exchanged solo moments between each other, building up the anticipation before Remi Wolf finally came out singing “Quiet on Set.” Although the crowd couldn’t exactly high kick along with Remi Wolf, they matched her energy by screaming the lyrics back to her and jumping nonstop in the pit. Continuing to make the show feel like a safe space, Wolf picked up a pride flag thrown to her and waved it around during her song “Guerrilla,” to which the audience went crazy for. In addition, she and her drummer Conor Malloy switched places to perform their “Positive Affirmations” bit; as Remi Wolf drummed a beat, Malloy had the crowd repeat positive affirmations back to him, some of which included “it was a Dua Lipa summer, now it’s Dua Lipa fall,” and my personal favorite: “I’m Dua Lipa.”

Wolf faked out her fans by saying goodbye during “Photo ID,” then returning for an encore performance of “Disco Man” and expressing that she was “gonna say hi to [the crowd] because [she] never [gets] to see [the crowd] in real life.” The show ended with colorful lights and a bubble machine that dispersed hundreds of bubbles over the pit. Wolf’s show was definitely a safe space where many of her fans came to jump, dance, and vibe; be sure to make it to one of her last few shows on tour if you can!
